We are proud to share that Prof. Sandra Lindstedt was honored to give a plenary lecture at the 2nd Meeting on Lung Transplantation and ECMO, held in Warsaw, Poland on May 22, 2025.

Her talk focused on the evolving role of machine perfusion as a regenerative platform for donor lungs—highlighting how this technology can be used to rehabilitate discarded lungs, improve transplant outcomes, and expand the donor pool. Prof. Lindstedt also discussed strategies to centralize machine perfusion in Scandinavia, emphasizing the importance of structured collaboration, shared infrastructure, and competence development.
The lecture also featured insights from the BRIDGE – Lungs for Life project, showcasing its ongoing work to integrate advanced perfusion techniques and regenerative therapies into clinical and experimental lung transplantation.
We thank the organizers in Warsaw for a stimulating meeting and the opportunity to share and learn with colleagues across Europe.
