On 22–23 October 2025, representatives from The Bridge – Lungs for Life participated in the XVIVO Masterclass on Lung Transplantation, held in Malmö, Sweden. The event gathered leading clinicians, researchers, and industry partners from across Europe, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States to discuss recent advances in lung preservation, ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP), and regenerative therapies.

The Bridge team was well represented: Dr. Franziska Olm presented the Bridge – Lungs for Life project, outlining its mission to build a cross-border Scandinavian platform for donor lung revitalisation and the development of advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs). Dr. Anna Niroomand was selected to present research on proteomic profiling of primary graft dysfunction following ex vivo lung perfusion and transplantation. Dr. Michael Perch, Dr. Hasse Møller-Sørensen and Prof. Sandra Lindstedt also contributed actively to the scientific discussions, reinforcing collaboration across Swedish and Danish Centres.
Participation in the Masterclass provided valuable opportunities to exchange experience, explore new technologies, and strengthen international partnerships. Insights gained will further support The Bridge – Lungs for Life in advancing sustainable clinical solutions to expand organ availability and improve transplant outcomes.

We thank XVIVO and Marx Runge for organize this high-quality event and for fostering collaboration between academic, clinical, and industry partners committed to innovation in transplantation.
