Preclinical development of cell therapies for injured donor lungs
During autumn 2025, The Bridge - Lungs for Life conducted a series of intensive joint preclinical development weeks focused on advancing cell-based therapies for injured donor lungs. Multidisciplinary teams worked closely together to evaluate therapeutic strategies aimed at restoring lung function and improving transplantability. On 22–23 October 2025, representatives from The Bridge – Lungs for Life participated in the XVIVO Masterclass on Lung Transplantation, held in Malmö, Sweden. The event gathered leading clinicians, researchers, and industry partners from across Europe, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States to discuss recent advances in lung preservation, ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP), and regenerative therapies.
