Lung transplantation education day at STS in New Orleans

On January 29, 2026, Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) hosted a comprehensive lung transplantation education day in conjunction in New Orleans.


The full-day program covered the entire transplant pathway, from donor management and organ preservation to recipient care and post-transplant outcomes. The session attracted a large international audience and fostered active discussions on the importance of centralized EVLP services and strategies to maximize the utilization of donor lungs for transplantation.
